Manor Solomon ‘wants’ Spurs exit as Henderson leaves Brentford, with Leeds pressing £40m Trafford deal | OneFootball

Leeds United continue their US pre-season against Sunderland tomorrow and are advancing a club-record £40m move for James Trafford, aiming to make him their third summer signing and complete three priority additions.

Free agent Harry Wilson has already featured unofficially against Wrexham and £34m centre-back Tarik Muharemovic could soon follow. According to the Daily Mail, former Leeds loanee Manor Solomon wants a permanent exit from Tottenham.

Recently-relegated West Ham United are interested and, as at Elland Road, he could replace the outgoing Crysencio Summerville. Solomon’s 2024 loan brought 10 goals and 13 assists, including an added-time title-clinching winner at Plymouth Argyle on the final day.

Loan spells at Villarreal and Fiorentina were underwhelming. Despite playing in all three pre-season games under Roberto De Zerbi, he is seeking a more permanent home away from North London and Spurs are expected to listen to offers as they raise funds.

Ipswich Town have signed goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on a four-year deal worth around £11m. The six foot nine Dutch Under-21 international kept 21 clean sheets in 43 games last season. He had been on Leeds’ radar but there was no active pursuit.

Jordan Henderson has left Brentford by mutual consent amid interest from Chelsea, with talks said to be progressing. Should he join, he would link up with Danny Welbeck, whose move from Brighton is all but confirmed, signalling a shift in transfer strategy at Stamford Bridge. New head coach Xabi Alonso is keen to add Premier League experience.
