Manuel Neuer to return against Gladbach

Manuel Neuer will once again be available for Bayern in their Bundesliga game away at Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday, as head coach Vincent Kompany confirmed at his pre-match press conference on Friday. The goalkeeper had suffered a broken rib in December and missed the final games of last year. “If I hadn’t known he was injured, I wouldn’t have noticed. Experience obviously helps as well. He knows how he needs to get back into things. His role also doesn’t change. He’s very important for us,” the Belgian stated.

However, Daniel Peretz (kidney) and Jamal Musiala (ill) will both miss the trip to Mönchengladbach. “Daniel will be out for a few weeks. We don’t know exactly how long,” Kompany confirmed. “Jamal is in the category of not being to replace him like-for-like. But that doesn’t mean we have different demands. We want to win. Jamal will be back very soon.” Hiroki Ito, Sacha Boey, João Palhinha, Josip Stanišić (all back in fitness training) and Dayot Upamecano (suspended) are also out of Saturday’s game.
