Manchester United’s top priority midfield target Manuel Ugarte has once again been dropped from Paris Saint-Germain’s matchday squad for their game against Montpellier.

He was not part of the squad for their opener against Le Havre as well and the Uruguayan is “waiting for his departure to Manchester United” as per journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Luis Enrique clearly does not rate the former Sporting Lisbon star, having already signed a replacement in Joao Neves and the midfield destroyer is keen to leave Paris.

He is waiting for instructions from super agent Jorge Mendes, who will give him the green light to travel to England.

Waiting for the green light

The Ligue 1 side do not want a loss on their initial investment as per RMC Sport and have stuck to that demand since the start of negotiations.

“The Mancunians are not ready to go all crazy for a player regularly left on the bench last season by Luis Enrique.

“PSG has already lowered its initial demands but does not want to go below these 60 million euros. This sum would allow the capital club not to lose money in the operation.”

Formula for exit

Both teams are still trying to figure out the formula for his exit, either a loan with an obligation to buy or a straight sale.

The Parisian outfit would prefer a straight sale but INEOS currently do not have the money required to pay the €60 million upfront as they are yet to conduct any significant player sales.

Casemiro is set to remain while Scott McTominay’s only option is Napoli, who are struggling to cough up the asking price.’

Juventus are also eyeing a loan move for Jadon Sancho, which will not benefit United financially currently.

Both United and PSG remain confident that an agreement will be struck before deadline day.
