The semi-automatic offside system slated for this Brasileirão is still being installed across Série A venues, with only the Maracanã ready after tests in a Fluminense v Botafogo match last month.

According to Globo.com, equipment is already in at Neo Química Arena in São Paulo, plus Couto Pereira and Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, with São Januário and Arena MRV due to follow on Monday. The rollout may only finish in June, which would push first use to after the World Cup break.

All venues will still undergo calibration and testing. Next up are Arena do Grêmio in Porto Alegre by Thursday, and Barradão in Salvador with no date set. There is no fixed timetable for the rest.

The league pauses after round 18 on the final weekend of May, and resumes on 22 July. The CBF has not set a start date, saying the technology will only be used once all testing and training are complete.

The deal with Genius, the English supplier, was signed in November. In October, project lead Harry Lennard estimated at least four months would be needed for installation.

Genius also supplies the Premier League, where a contract was signed in August 2024 and the system launched on 12 April 2025 in the 32nd round.

Around 27 high-end mobile devices are fitted at each ground in strategic spots to build a virtual model of play, with incidents assessed by artificial intelligence. All devices are already in Brazil, which should accelerate installations in the coming weeks. The plan is to equip 20 stadiums this season, the 19 regular Série A homes plus Arena Crefisa Barueri.
