Marc-André ter Stegen faces another spell out after picking up a hamstring injury playing for Girona.
The 33-year-old sustained the problem during Saturday’s match against Oviedo and will now undergo further tests to determine the full diagnosis and recovery plan.
He joined from FC Barcelona on loan to secure regular playing time ahead of the World Cup, and is Germany’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Cadena SER reports he could be sidelined for up to two months, with an early return to Barcelona under consideration.
If his absence lasts that long, his hopes of making Germany’s World Cup squad could be in serious jeopardy.
