Marc Cucurella has honoured his pre-World Cup pledge by getting a tattoo of Spain coach Luis de la Fuente on his left arm. The 28-year-old, newly signed by Real Madrid, marked the triumph with the striking design.
According to L'Équipe, he vowed before the tournament to get inked if La Roja won the title. On Tuesday he unveiled an image showing De la Fuente lifting the trophy secured at MetLife Stadium.
Spain beat Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final two weeks ago. Cucurella posted the photo and wrote that the promise had been kept.
Before the competition he said it would be a good memento, though he was still weighing up the placement.
Others had set their own light-hearted stakes for victory. Gavi said he would dye his hair pink, Lamine Yamal pledged to grow a beard and moustache for three weeks. Pedri said he would go white or blond after the tour in China, before returning to Barcelona.
