Marc Guehi ‘very proud’ as he completes Man City move | OneFootball

England defender Marc Guehi has completed his move to Manchester City, joining from Crystal Palace for an initial £20m.

The 25-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal, which will keep him at the Etihad until 2031.

With his contract at Crystal Palace set to expire this summer, the England international had been close to signing for Liverpool back in August. However, that move fell through on deadline day, and City have now fended off interest from other rivals to land Guehi’s signature.

“It’s a relief,” Guehi said on the move. “I’m very proud and very excited to get started. I’m very grateful to God.”

“First and foremost, it’s such an honour. It’s such a big club to come and play for.

“For me, I’ve always been obsessed with getting better and to improve. That’s something I’m constantly striving for and I think this is the perfect place for me to do that.

“The environment, I’ve heard so much about the club and the fans, the players and manager speak for themselves – it’s definitely the right environment for me to improve and get better. 

“Hopefully, I can bring what I have to the table to help every single person here too.”
