Elisabeth Terland’s hat-trick fired the Red Devils into the main draw of the Champions League for the first time in their history.

Brann had taken a 1-0 lead into the second-leg of their qualifying round clash on Thursday night.

However, the second-leg was a far smoother night for United, who were rarely tested by their Norwegian opponents.

United will be in the draw for the League Phase for the Women’s Champions League alongside Women’s Super League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

What did Marc Skinner say after Manchester United’s victory over Brann?

Marc Skinner declared his Manchester United side as ‘history-makers’ at the start of his post-match press conference, following their 3-1 aggregate victory over Brann.

He said: “I said to the players at the end, we’ve got to go in there and not just make up the numbers, we have to go and really be excited by the opportunity to play against Europe’s best teams. If you want to be there, you’ve got to perform against them.

“I hope that the teams that get us, they see that actually they didn’t really want to play Manchester United. But in all honesty, whoever we get, we will absolutely try and maximise those games that we get.”

He added: “It will be a totally different challenge, but something we’re looking forward to. We’ve got players that have experience of that, we added that experience. It’ll be a different challenge, but something we’re going to absolutely embrace. We’ve just made history, so why not go and enjoy it?”

Which pot will Manchester United be in for the Women’s Champions League draw?

The 18 teams in the Champions League draw will be split into three pots, which is based from clubs’ respective UEFA club rankings.

Manchester United have little record of playing in Europe, so it is no surprise that they are in Pot 3 for the draw which commences at 11am (BST).

However, United will be able to draw any team left in the competition, except for WSL rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

This means they could play the likes of Barcelona, Lyon, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

After the draw, Manchester United will turn their attentions to their WSL clash with Arsenal on Sunday. Both sides hold 100 per cent records from their opening two games of the season.
