Ilia Gruev is rehabilitating a meniscus knee injury in Bulgaria after his season ended early. He is progressing well and expects to be fit for pre-season.
According to Leeds Live, the midfielder has one year left on his contract and could open talks with overseas clubs from January, though he remains focused on England and enjoys the Premier League’s standard.
Gabriel Gudmundsson was forced off in Sweden’s 5-1 World Cup win over Tunisia, but manager Graham Potter said it was only cramp.
Former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa refused to face the camera for Uruguay’s official World Cup portrait, later telling a press conference he was not a model and did not owe an explanation. The stance came after a 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia and severe travel disruption, with a flight to Florida heavily delayed by aircraft documentation issues and the federation criticising FIFA.
Gary McAllister remains optimistic about the 49ers-led ownership despite Paraag Marathe’s cautious approach. He believes their know-how could eventually take Leeds back into European football.
