Speculation in Türkiye linking him with Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe has been dismissed. He has no plans to move to Türkiye and there have been no negotiations with Fenerbahçe, with immediate priority given to talks with Carrick and pre-season work in Manchester.

Carrick and his staff intend to assess his fitness, motivation and tactical fit during the schedule. The return offers a clean slate after his loan at Barcelona, where he helped secure the La Liga title, though the buy option was not taken up.

United have ruled out another loan, so any exit would need to be permanent. Rashford would only consider leaving for a Champions League-level European club with an ambitious sporting model.
