Manchester United remain determined to part ways with Marcus Rashford this summer after his loan from Aston Villa comes to an end, it has been revealed.

A deterioration in his relationship with United head coach Ruben Amorim saw Rashford frozen out at Old Trafford before a January loan to Aston Villa, where the forward has forced his way back into the England squad through a series of impressive performances.

Rashford caught the eye in Villa's recent victory over Paris Saint-Germain, setting up the third goal in an unsuccessful attempt to overturn the deficit from the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, sparking suggestions United should try to reintegrate Rashford this summer.

The Times state United have been delighted by Rashford's form solely because of the fact it will have increased the likelihood of a permanent sale this summer. The Red Devils are already looking at replacements and are planning to spend whatever money is raised through his departure.

Villa have the option to sign Rashford permanently for £40m but have not yet decided whether to pursue such a deal, while it is also not clear whether the 27-year-old would want to continue his career at Villa Park. It was recently reported that PSG are exploring a summer deal once again.

Despite his resurgence, Sky Sports News state United officials have no regrets about Rashford, insisting they made several attempts to help him change off the field before ultimately being forced to accept defeat.

Among those being considered to replace Rashford are Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Ipswich Town's Liam Delap and Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha.
