Marino Hinestroza remains on the fringes at Vasco and is attracting South American interest before the next window. According to Globo.com, the club do not plan to sell the 23-year-old, a roughly R$ 30 million arrival, whose contract runs to the end of 2029.
Tensions have grown this season, including with head coach Renato Gaúcho. Friction also involves Colombians Andrés Gómez, Cuesta and Johan Rojas after April's 2-1 loss to Botafogo, when comments about adapting from Colombia and Ecuador caused upset.
The remarks focused on tactical adaptation and prior Brazilian experience and were poorly received within a group close to the Colombian quartet. They were not isolated, with other public lines during his tenure prompting unease.
Hinestroza's rapport with fans has also frayed after abuse and demands outside the training ground in late May. On the pitch he has lost ground for the right-wing berth, making 18 appearances without a goal or assist.
His integration is seen as mishandled. Short of fitness, he struggled with Fernando Diniz's methods in early 2026 and was used earlier than the medical staff judged ideal.
Announced on 27 January, he featured as soon as two February. Club staff now consider that call premature, as with forward Brenner, with both reporting after a long holiday to CT Moacyr Barbosa.
A lack of rhythm and confidence followed. Expectation to replace Rayan immediately added pressure, a leap he hoped to make quickly but has not achieved.
