Mark van Bommel would be interested in the vacant Rangers job, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Rangers parted with Russell Martin last night after 17 games in charge and are now looking for a new manager.
Van Bommel is available, having been out of a job since leaving Royal Antwerp in 2024.
The Dutchman won the Belgian Pro League at the end of the 2022-23 campaign and was approached by the Light Blues over the summer before Martin got the job.
Rangers are seeking their fifth permanent manager in just under three years and are currently shortlisting candidates, with several names being discussed.
Van Bommel also won the Belgian Cup and Belgian Super Cup in 2023. He was named the Belgian Professional Manager of the Season and won the Belgian Golden Shoe for coach of the year at the end of that campaign.
He began his managerial career in the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven, followed by a stint in the Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg. He could be perfect for Rangers.
They are currently eighth in the Scottish Premiership table after just one win in seven league games this term, and they were left with no choice but to sack Martin following the 1-1 draw with Falkirk on Sunday.
The club have struggled to make the right managerial appointment in recent seasons, and it will be intriguing to see who they end up appointing to succeed Martin.
Van Bommel is not the only one keen on the job, and Rangers will have plenty of options to choose from.
