Inter’s Serie A and Coppa Italia celebrations are underway, but President Beppe Marotta is already putting plans in place for the future and has commented on the club’s goals for the summer transfer window: ‘It will be an evolutionary process, not revolutionary’.

It has been a memorable season for the Nerazzurri, who have won the domestic double in Cristian Chivu’s first season in charge.

The team played their final home match of the season on Sunday, ending in a 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona, and will be presented with the Serie A trophy on the pitch in due course.

From there, the squad and staff will embark on an open-top bus parade throughout the city of Milan, ending with one big party at the Piazza del Duomo.

“Winning is always special. More than anything, I’m happy for the Inter supporters, they deserved this extraordinary achievement,” Marotta told DAZN shortly after full-time against Verona (via TMW).

Though it is a day of festivities, Marotta admitted that he is already thinking about the future and the players that will leave the club in the coming weeks.

“(There will be) some changes, yes. It will be an evolutionary process, not revolutionary. There are some players we will have to evaluate, but we have maximum respect for those who will leave. We’re aiming for a mix of young and experienced players.

“The core is there, even today we had four players who trained in our youth sides and this is the path to follow.”
