Marseille prepare new bid for Igor Paixão amid competition from Leeds | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, Olympique de Marseille are preparing a new bid for Igor Paixão (25), with Leeds United threatening to steal the winger from under their noses.

Interest from the Premier League club, who reportedly sent an offer to Feyenoord of €32m plus bonuses, has spurred Marseille into action. The Ligue 1 side had seen two offers (€16m and €28m) rejected by their Dutch counterparts, and will now provide a third, more generous offer.

L’Équipe writes that Marseille had hoped to put pressure on Feyenoord as they had already agreed on personal terms with Paixão. However, Feyenoord have stuck steadfast by their €35m valuation.

Marseille have been looking to strengthen on the left of their attack this summer following the departure of Luis Henrique (23) to Internazionale Milan. However, several targets have slipped from their fingers, with Noa Lang moving to Napoli and Johan Bakayoko joining RB Leipzig.
