Leicester City have confirmed the appointment of Marti Cifuentes as their new manager, with the Spaniard signing a three-year contract at the King Power Stadium.
The 43-year-old replaces Ruud van Nistelrooy and becomes the Foxes’ fourth permanent boss in just two years.
Originally from Catalonia, Cifuentes was most recently in charge at Queens Park Rangers. He took over the west London club in October 2023, arriving from Swedish side Hammarby, and was widely credited with steadying the ship.
Under his guidance, QPR avoided relegation in both seasons, finishing 15th in the Championship last term.
His time at Loftus Road came to an end just before the final match of the season, when he was placed on gardening leave. The club later confirmed his departure by mutual consent in June, paving the way for former Rennes boss Julien Stéphan to step in.
As pre-season preparations ramp up, the Foxes will be hoping Cifuentes can bring stability, a clear identity, and some much-needed momentum ahead of the new campaign.
