Mason Greenwood has gone from strength to strength since leaving Manchester United permanently in the summer of 2024.

The former Red Devils academy graduate caught the imagination of fans under former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and was tipped for great things at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, his career was derailed following accusations of rape and domestic abuse, forcing the Premier League giants to take action.

Greenwood was initially sent out on loan to Getafe before United opted to offload him permanently to Marseille in 2024.

Ligue 1 Player of the Month

Greenwood enjoyed a tremendous debut campaign with the Ligue 1 side, scoring 22 goals and setting up six more in 36 appearances across competitions.

The Englishman has taken his game to another level this season, showing why he was so highly rated at Old Trafford. The 24 year old has scored nine goals and set up four more from 15 games in all competitions.

Mason Greenwood Stats: 2025/26 Season

On Sunday, the UNFP, Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels, announced that Greenwood had won the Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for October.

The English striker scored five goals in four league matches last month, including four in the 6-2 home win over Le Harve. He previously won the award for December 2024, when he finished the month with two goals in three league games.

Greenwood’s recent performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with a report relayed by The Peoples Person stating that Barcelona, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur are hot on his heels.

Good news for United

Greenwood’s form with Marseille will please INEOS, who stand to benefit from his progress.

Recent reports suggest that United have included a sell-on clause in the Englishman’s contract and could receive up to £25 million from a potential future sale.

Given that the Red Devils are expected to further invest in their squad in 2026, the possible sale of their former graduate’s could be a significant boost to their plans.
