Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has reportedly returned to full training as he aims to make his return to action as soon as possible.

Last month, Mount suffered a hamstring injury that was expected to rule him out for several weeks as he recovered.

The player himself took to social media and expressed his frustration at picking up the setback. In his statement, Mount relayed that he would do “everything possible” to get back in the best shape possible.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person noted that the England international was not due to make his comeback at least until “early October.”

However, in a remarkable boost to Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff, it’s now understood that Mount is back in training and could be available for selection very soon.

Steven Railston of The Manchester Evening News reports, “Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has returned to first-team training and could return from the sidelines sooner than expected.”

“The Manchester Evening News understand Mount has now returned to full training with the team and could be available again this month, which is a boost for United.”

The newspaper points out, “When a player returns to full training at Carrington after an injury, that is usually an indicator they are close to a return to full fitness and Mount should be available for selection again soon.”

Mount started United’s first two Premier League fixtures against Fulham and Brighton and Hove Albion.

He was withdrawn during the break at the Amex Stadium, with Ten Hag later revealing that the change was a forced substitution due to injury concerns.

His relentless pressing was a pivotal part of Ten Hag’s plans and it was no surprise that United fell apart in the subsequent match against Liverpool in his absence.

Earlier today, Ten Hag spoke to reporters ahead of the Red Devils’ EFL clash vs. Barnsley and insisted that Mount was progressing well although he would not be ready for the Tuesday match.
