Mastantuono reacts after first training session at Real Madrid: ‘Met great people’ | OneFootball

Franco Mastantuono was officially presented as a new Real Madrid player on Thursday which also happened to be his birthday and even the shirt number he will wear at the club officially came to light during the same formality.

While he has been registered with the subsidiary team for the time being, it is clear that he will be a first-team player for all practical reasons for Xabi Alonso has high hopes for the Argentine phenom.

In fact, the player is even expected to see minutes in Real Madrid’s league opener in a few days’ time despite just joining the team dynamics now.

Post-training interview

Speaking to the media after his first training session as a Real Madrid player, the Argentine phenom expressed gratitude to all members of the dressing room for extending a warm welcome.

“I want to thank all my teammates for the warm welcome.”

He then elaborated on his feelings after completing a first training session at the club and how he looked forward to the ones that are to come.

“I just had a very good first training session, I met great people who welcomed me warmly, very happy about my first day and I hope there will be many more.”

Mastantuono then pledged his commitment and dedication to the Real Madrid crest, saying,

“I’m going to give my life for this shirt.”

“I don’t even have to say it, we all know that Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world,” he added, praising the Spanish club and its glorious history.

Finally, the player spoke out on how it was never in doubt that he would sign for Real Madrid, especially after the club formally expressed interest in his signing.

“When Real Madrid called me, I didn’t hesitate for a second, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.”
