Matarazzo sets Real Sociedad pre-season for four July

Real Sociedad will report back for pre-season on four July, the first under head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo.

The club said in a statement that pre-season will begin on four July, and that training on Sunday five July will be open to the public.

The American coach arrived in December after the dismissal of Sergio Francisco, then lifted a struggling side to win the Copa del Rey and seal automatic qualification for the Europa League.

By four July it remains to be seen whether there will be any new faces or changes to the squad.

Matarazzo’s plan is for an intense pre-season, combining friendlies with a training camp of around four or five days. Further details and the summer fixture list will be confirmed in due course.

Most players are on holiday, while internationals are currently with their national teams.
