The EFL have now confirmed the list of match officials to oversee proceedings in West Yorkshire between Huddersfield Town and Manchester City this week.

Pep Guardiola’s side add another competition to their ever-growing fixture agenda this season by entering into the Carabao Cup at the third round stage, as is standard procedure for the club at their level of competition.

City will be hoping to go much further than their last attempt at League Cup glory, after a third round win over Watford at home was followed up by defeat on the road at the hands of Tottenham in North London.

Manchester City will no doubt come into the clash high on confidence having recorded victories over Manchester United and Napoli, as well as securing a 1-1 draw on the road at Arsenal all in the space of a week.

However, having fielded an unchanged line-up in three consecutive matches for only the third time in his career at the Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola will be expected to make wholesale changes to his selection for the meeting against the Terriers.

Ahead of the meeting between Huddersfield Town and Manchester City, the EFL have now announced the list of match officials to oversee proceedings at the Accu Stadium!

Match Referee

Ahead of Manchester City’s trip to Huddersfield Town this week, the EFL have confirmed that Michael Salisbury has been appointed into the role of match referee for the clash at the Accu Stadium.

This will be the Lancashire official’s fourth match of the ongoing season and his second time in the Carabao Cup, having overseen proceedings in Brentford’s 0-2 away win at Bournemouth in the second round.

Across his three matches so far this season, Salisbury has issued a total of 10 yellow cards as well as a second yellow and subsequent red card on one occasion, with no penalties or direct red cards awarded.

This will be only the third time that City have been officiated by Michael Salisbury, having recorded a 4-1 win over West Ham in the Premier League earlier this year, as well as a 5-0 win in FA Cup action at home to this week’s opponents in Huddersfield back in 2024.

Assistant Referees

Supporting Michael Salisbury on the field at the Accu Stadium this week will be the EFL’s appointed assistant referees in Marc Perry and Steven Meredith.

Fourth Official

Overseeing the respective Huddersfield Town and Manchester City dugouts will be fourth official Oliver Langford, managing the actions of Lee Grant and Pep Guardiola.
