Leeds United forward Mateo Joseph has highlighted big personal changes after a season on loan at RCD Mallorca and an ACL setback, sharing images of intensive gym work.

The player said in a post that “Small improvements these past few weeks are starting to turn into big changes, we continue to build.”

Last summer Joseph informed Leeds he did not feel ready to travel to Sweden for a pre-season friendly with Manchester United, then chose not to join the training camp in Germany.

He told head coach Daniel Farke he wanted a move back to Spain. Leeds were clear they would only consider a loan for the 22-year-old, with Real Betis showing interest before Mallorca took him on a season-long deal.

Joseph made 30 appearances for Mallorca, scoring two goals and supplying four assists, before his campaign ended in April due to an ACL injury that left him facing at least a few months out.

He returns to Leeds this summer with his situation uncertain. The striker is under contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2028.
