Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha has had a memorable first season at Old Trafford.
The Brazilian joined Manchester United from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer for £62.5 million.
Cunha took some time to settle at Manchester United but has enjoyed an outstanding second half of the campaign. He has scored a total of 10 goals this season and has impressed in numerous high-profile matches.
His tally includes two goals against Aston Villa, Leeds United, Liverpool, and Chelsea, as well as Arsenal, and an assist against Manchester City.
Cunha has also impressed fans with his work rate and passion on the pitch.
His impressive form for Manchester United has come at the perfect time for his international career, as he recently received a call-up to the Brazil World Cup squad.
The 26-year-old reacted on social media to his selection for the legendary Brazil squad.
On Instagram, Cunha posted, “On God [the World Cup in] ’22 was so hard and I didn’t even understand it.”
He added, “today, I am so accomplished with everything God has given me that I can’t thank you enough for all the moments of learning and growth.”
Cunha finished off by stating, “I am going to realise my biggest dream.”
The Seleção’s first game is a tough one against Morocco in New Jersey on 13 June, before coming up against Haiti on 20 June.
They will then round off their group campaign with a match against Scotland on 24 June.
Cunha has played 21 times for the national team since making his debut in 2021.
His only goal came against Argentina in World Cup qualifying last year.
