Mbeumo making waves at United

Like Cunha, Mbeumo joined United during the summer transfer window as part of the club’s overhaul of the attacking department.

Mbeumo enjoyed an incredible 2024/25 season with Brentford, plundering a career-high 20 Premier League goals. There was heavy interest in his services but the forward made it clear that he only wanted to join United.

The Red Devils forked out £70m to snap up the Cameroonian, who has certainly looked the part since putting pen to paper on a contract running until June 2030.

He has notched five goals and one assist in 11 top-flight appearances. For his outstanding performances in October, Mbeumo won a treble of individual prizes – United’s Player of the Month, Premier League Player of the Month and PFA Fans’ Player of the Month awards.

Cunha recently spoke to the media and revealed just how much he enjoys playing with the Cameroonian.

Cunha makes feelings on Mbeumo clear

Cunha said [as quoted by Hayters], “Incredible. What a player.”

“You ask me some things about United. My mind is in Brazil, but it’s incredible to be there and to play with Mbeumo, and with the great players like Bryan.”

Cunha added, “Playing for Manchester United is always pressure.”

“But that’s just how it is. For me, it’s a privilege.”

“Even now, I feel like… It’s a privilege to be there and to have a solution for all the situations you need.”

Ruben Amorim and his players are next in action next week on Tuesday when they host Everton. The game kicks off at 8pm.
