Matheuzinho registered his first assist of 2026 as Corinthians drew 1-1 with Portuguesa at Canindé in the quarter-finals, then edged the shootout 8-7 to reach the semi-finals. According to Meu Timao, it also made him the 11th different provider for the club this year, with Rodrigo Garro leading on two.

The equaliser arrived in the 47th minute of the second half after a neat exchange. Matheuzinho picked up possession in midfield and released Vitinho on the left, the forward controlled and lashed past Portuguesa to force penalties.

Vitinho’s strike was his first in Corinthians colours.

Since joining Parque São Jorge in 2024, Matheuzinho has produced 14 goal contributions in 122 appearances, scoring five and supplying nine.

This season’s assist list is topped by Rodrigo Garro on two. One each have gone to Matheuzinho, Yuri Alberto, Dieguinho, Kaio César, Pedro Raul, Gustavo Henrique, Vitinho, Matheus Bidu, Ryan and Memphis Depay.

Matheuzinho could add to his tally on Wednesday, when Corinthians visit Cruzeiro in Minas Gerais at 20:00 in the fourth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. There is a chance he will be rested with the state semi-final at the weekend.
