Those hoping for a quiet Sunday night in last night would have been alerted by a very surprise potential transfer deal brewing up for Chelsea.

Transfer windows are always rather dramatic at Chelsea since the new owners came in, and there always seems to be a big shock or two. In fact, we are hearing surprising bits of transfer news related to Chelsea on an almost daily basis in this past week, with the Kobbie Mainoo interest being one of the biggest shocks. Although so far, that has not gone any further.

Sources: EIGHT replacements being looked at for Christopher Nkunku at Chelsea!

Then last night, reports came flooding in suggesting that Renato Veiga had agreed to join Dortmund on loan from Chelsea, but the two clubs were yet to agree the deal.

Veiga only arrived at Chelsea in the summer for £12m, and already it looks like he wants to leave because he apparently wants to play as a centre back, and Enzo Maresca has largely just been picking him as a left back or a centre midfielder. But Veiga also doesn’t play league games, only cup matches, being part of the Blues ‘B-team’ right now.

The Telegraph journalist Matt Law, who has known connections to Chelsea, has put out what he has heard about it, which has likely come from Chelsea’s side.

He says:

‘Chelsea value Renato Veiga at more than £20 million and are adamant he will leave the club only on a permanent transfer this month.

‘Veiga is said to have agreed to join Borussia Dortmund during the current transfer window, with the German club now hoping to negotiate a loan move for the player.

‘But sources insist that Veiga will not be loaned out and that Chelsea will only consider selling him this month if their valuation is met.’
