Mauricio Pochettino holds talks with AC Milan over manager role | OneFootball

USA manager Mauricio Pochettino has held talks with AC Milan over their vacant manager role in the buildup to the World Cup.

The World Cup starts on June 11, with the USA’s first game on the 13th against Paraguay. They have two friendlies before their opening match, and Pochettino didn’t deny speaking to Milan during his media duties before the first friendly against Senegal on Sunday.

Asked if his representatives had held a meeting with the Italian club, the Argentinian said: “Maybe, possible, because they need to do their job. If I met someone, what happened? What is going to change if I met someone?

“We have friends everywhere and my representative works for me into trying to find the best possibility for the future. That is normal.”

Pochettino’s contract with the USA expires after the World Cup ends, and Milan sacked manager Massimiliano Allegri earlier this week after they failed to qualify for the Champions League.
