Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix, not expected earlier on Thursday, could be a late addition to Didier Deschamps’ 26-man World Cup squad, according to L'Équipe.
Deschamps and his staff can still alter the 26-man list they will take to the United States. Even after Thursday evening’s announcement, adjustments are permitted until 15 June, the eve of the opener against Senegal, in cases of injury or illness.

A final meeting between the coach and his staff may have produced a last change. A late tweak is considered likely.
The latest information points to Lacroix’s presence in the most recent list issued by the French Football Federation.
But at whose expense? Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga had been expected to be among the 26 throughout the day.
