Speaking at Brentford’s training camp in Portugal, Meghoma reflected on how that spell, in which he made 44 appearances, scored once and registered six assists in all competitions, helped him develop both on and off the pitch.
“It was an experience, to be honest with you,” said the left-back. “There were highs, there were lows; enjoyable moments and not-so-enjoyable moments.
“But, at the end of the day, it was really good for me and I think I’ve come back a different player, so that has really helped me.”

Meghoma explained that one of the biggest lessons from his time at Rangers was learning to handle a different kind of pressure at one of Scottish football’s most decorated clubs.
“I learned a lot, to be honest with you,” he continued. “I learned about the pressures of the game and certain scenarios.
“The pressure is a lot, so I learned to deal with that in different ways. I think that was really good for me as well.
“After a while, you get used to it. The initial phase can be a shock for some players but, for myself, I kind of enjoyed it and embraced it.
“It was an enjoyable experience, and I took it for what it was.”
Having returned to Brentford, Meghoma is now focused on making the most of pre-season as Keith Andrews’ squad continue preparations for the 2026/27 Premier League campaign.
The Bees are currently in Portugal, with double sessions and intense work on the training pitch forming a key part of the camp.
“It has been really good,” Meghoma stated. “It has been a good test for myself.
“It has been enjoyable, but it has also been testing the limits.
“Being mentally, tactically and physically prepared for that is what pre-season is about. For myself, it is definitely pushing all three elements.”
He added: “Right now, for us, it is about preparing properly and getting ourselves into the best physical condition possible.
“For myself, it is about keeping pushing on, trying to break through and making sure that I cement myself in the team.”
