Nicolás Lodeiro in 2014 and Zé Maria in 1970 are not counted, as neither had yet joined the club at the time of their tournaments.

The club plan to release Memphis after Wednesday’s Libertadores game against Platense at Neo Química Arena, kick-off 21:30. The Netherlands squad are due to report to the KNVB training centre in Zeist on 30 May to begin preparations.

He is expected to start against Platense, then will miss the trip to Grêmio on Saturday in the 18th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, the final fixture before the World Cup pause.

Corinthians will receive 11,000 dollars per day from FIFA while Depay is at the tournament, already guaranteeing 132,000 for the group stage. If the Netherlands reach the final, the figure could rise to 396,000.

The Netherlands face Algeria on 3 June in Rotterdam, then Uzbekistan on 8 June in New York. They are in Group F with Japan on 14 June, Sweden on 20 June and Tunisia on 25 June, crossing with Brazil’s path in the last 32.
