Globo.com reports that Memphis Depay returned to Brazil and reported to Corinthians at CT Joaquim Grava on Saturday morning after treatment in Spain.
He suffered the problem in the first half against Flamengo on 22 March, shortly after creating the move for Yuri Alberto’s goal, then went down holding his right thigh and asked to be substituted.
Initially called up, he was later withdrawn from the Netherlands squad with a grade 2 muscle injury in his right thigh, beginning treatment with the national team’s medical staff.
The 32-year-old had been in Madrid to address pain in his left knee, and before that watched from the stands at the Johan Cruijff Arena on 27 March.
He will now continue his recovery with Corinthians’ medical staff. He is expected to be unavailable to Dorival Júnior through April, missing key fixtures in the Conmebol Libertadores, Campeonato Brasileiro and Copa do Brasil.
Having sat out early-season games with left knee pain, the number 10 has yet to find rhythm and has one goal and one assist in 12 appearances this year.
During the international window, Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman called for him to improve physically, casting doubt on his place at the 2026 World Cup.
