Memphis Depay is having another left-knee treatment session in Madrid on Wednesday and is expected back in Brazil by Saturday. He will then resume work with Corinthians’ medical staff at CT Joaquim Grava.

According to Globo.com, the 32-year-old missed Netherlands duty in the recent international window with a grade 2 right thigh injury and has also been managing knee pain that sidelined him earlier this season.

He travelled to the Spanish capital in recent days for an intra-articular hyaluronic acid infiltration with physiotherapist Fermin Valera, a professional he trusts. Before that, he was in the Netherlands, watching a 2-1 win over Norway from the stands at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam on Friday.

Valera also handled Rodrigo Garro’s right-knee patellar tendinopathy in April last year, on Memphis’s recommendation after previous work together.

Memphis has one goal and one assist in 12 appearances for Corinthians this season. Last week Ronald Koeman urged him to improve physically, putting his 2026 World Cup place at risk.

Because of the thigh injury, he is expected to be out for about four weeks, including the first two Conmebol Libertadores matches and a match against Palmeiras.
