Messi arrives in Argentina to spend the holidays with his family | OneFootball

Messi arrived in Argentina on Wednesday morning to spend the festive period in Rosario after rounding off a landmark year with Inter Miami.

According to SuperDepor.com, he touched down at 10:03 at Sauce Viejo International Airport in Santa Fe on a private flight from the United States.

The Argentina captain travelled with partner Antonela Roccuzzo and their children Thiago, Mateo and Ciro. With Rosario’s airport closed since September for infrastructure works, the final leg to the city was completed by road under a security escort.

Dozens of fans gathered early near the airport with national team shirts, flags and banners hoping to catch a glimpse, but there was no direct contact. After leaving the terminal, the family headed for their home in a private neighbourhood in the town of Funes.

Messi is set for several weeks of rest to recharge for a demanding 2026, with the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada the major target. He will also spend Christmas and New Year with loved ones, a long-standing family tradition.

Inter Miami’s next official fixture is on 21 February, when they face LAFC at the start of a new MLS season. Meanwhile, Messi returns home to end the year among his own.
