Metz predicted XI v Lille: Bouna Sarr benched in Saint-Symphorien return | OneFootball

Bouna Sarr’s road back to his boyhood club FC Metz has been a long one. His move to Bayern Munich in 2020 was plagued by injuries, and he made only 16 appearances across a four-year contract before leaving as a free agent in 2024. 

For a season and a half, Sarr has been without a club, but according to L’Équipe has been training with Metz since November with a view to returning to Ligue 1 and helping the team that gave him his professional debut escape their situation at the bottom of the table. 

Sarr isn’t expected to start tonight against a Lille OSC side still searching for their first league victory in 2026, but he will likely make his second debut for Metz off the bench, 15 years after he took his first steps onto the football pitch with Les Grenats.
