Micah Richards has claimed Michael Olise made the right decision by joining Bayern Munich instead of Chelsea.
The Blues have been linked with and pursued a number of players under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake ownership.
Whilst they’ve signed some top players in the form of Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer, there’s also a number of players they’ve missed out on for one reason or another.
Whilst some players they’ve missed out on haven’t turned out to be a disaster, there’s one or two which had they joined would have delighted fans.
Victor Osimhen certainly falls into that category, but Chelsea simply weren’t prepared to match his wage demands, whilst he wasn’t prepared to lower his salary.
Olise is another that got away, and Chelsea tried for two successive summers to sign the France international to no avail.

Chelsea had agreed a deal for Olise, only for it to fall through and he ended up signing a new deal before he joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024.
Olise has gone from strength to strength in Germany and has established himself as one of the best players in Europe, and Richards feels he made the right choice not joining Chelsea.
“He’s took his game to the next level,” he told The Rest Is Football.
“What a move that was for him. Because if he would have went to City, he might not have played as much as he would have liked.
“Maybe even if he went Chelsea at the time with the wingers that they have for the competition.
“He’s gone straight into Bayern Munich and played. He missed a couple games when he first went there, and after that, he’s just, he’s the main man there, which is crazy for Bayern Munich.”
Whilst Chelsea ultimately weren’t able to get a deal over the line for Olise, they instead ended up with Palmer which hasn’t turned out badly.

However, having both Palmer and Olise in the same team would have been special, but Chelsea do now have the prospect of pairing the England international with Estevao.
Palmer is still sidelined with a groin injury but could make a return to action at the end of November against Barcelona or Arsenal.
