The coach of Girona FC, Míchel Sánchez, spoke ahead of the match that his team will play tomorrow at Rayo Vallecano's stadium, a clash he considers especially demanding after the tough defeat in the last match against Mallorca.

“It has been a normal week. We can only keep working, and I believe we are capable of overcoming the last defeat, which was tough,” assured the coach, convinced that the team is ready to bounce back.

Míchel praised the competitive level of the Madrid team and the historic moment they are experiencing: “It will be a very difficult match against a team that has made history by achieving their first qualification for a European final.”

Even so, the Girona coach insisted that the focus must be exclusively on their own performance: “We need to think only about ourselves and secure the three points tomorrow, which we really need.”

In this regard, he emphasized the importance of reinforcing the positive aspects of their game: “The most important thing now is to focus on the things we do well and improve small details.”

Míchel also took responsibility for the current situation and stressed the commitment needed to face the final stretch of the season: “Full responsibility to work at two hundred percent.”

The coach assured that the locker room maintains its competitive ambition intact: “The team is ready to fight and win the remaining matches.”

Regarding the opponent, he particularly highlighted their intensity and directness: “Rayo is second in the league in terms of intensity, only surpassed by Real Sociedad. At Vallecas, they are a very direct team and very dangerous in transitions.”

Finally, Míchel concluded the press conference with a message of confidence in his players: “The team is convinced of what it has to do.”
