Middlesbrough are understood to be close to signing defender Ashley Phillips and goalkeeper Radek Vitek.
Boro are in talks over signing Spurs defender Phillips and are believed to be close to agreeing a deal.
And the Championship side have also agreed a fee worth around £14m to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Vitek.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Bristol City and is set to travel to Middlesbrough to complete his transfer move.
It will continue what has already been a busy summer of spending for Boro, who splashed out on signing striker Will Lankshear from Spurs in a deal which could be worth an eventual £20m.
However, the double arrival of Vitek and Phillips is also set to coincide with two departures from the squad.
Delano Burgzorg is closing in on a move to Championship rivals Preston North End, while Kaly Sene is set to join Swiss side Young Boys.
