Boro will face competition from the likes of FC Koln, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Param, with all four clubs eyeing a move this summer.

Milovanovic has opened up about his future with GAIS, suggesting that it will be difficult to leave the club due to his connection with the team and its supporters.

However, he revealed that his dream is to move to a warmer country and earn a better salary.

"It's not my job to think about it, I have people doing it for me,” said Milovanovic, via Aftonbladet.

“I just try to make it as good as possible for me and the team, and see where it takes me.

"The day I do it, it will be tough. I like this club and I feel great here.

“Gothenburg is my home.

“Of course, then I want to be here.

“But everyone knows that if you do well, you will move on and get to new levels.

Milovanovic signing has potential for Middlesbrough

Milovanovic is certainly earning a lot of attention with his recent displays in Sweden, and it will be tricky for Middlesbrough to compete against Bundesliga sides for his signature.

However, if Rob Edwards could add him to his squad for next season then it could prove a real coup.

He is still only 23, so has room to potentially grow and develop his game further, but he has already earned a lot of plaudits for his performances.

The step up to the Championship will be a challenge, but this could be the kind of signing Middlesbrough need to reinforce their midfield, while adding some defensive solidity to the team.
