Mikel Arteta has urged patience with Viktor Gyökeres, saying the goals will come while stressing the striker now needs to turn chances into goals.

As reported by L'Équipe, the Arsenal manager spoke on Friday ahead of the match against Wolverhampton at 9pm on Saturday.

Arsenal’s third most expensive summer signing and the 2025 Gerd Müller Trophy winner has struggled to spark his season, with six goals in all competitions, including four in the Premier League. His output is below what he delivered across two seasons with Sporting Portugal.

Arteta noted it is a different league with other demands. He said the forward had no pre-season and is only now regaining rhythm.

Back from injury in the Chelsea match on 30 November, the Swede has not scored since. Arteta considers him in a very good moment physically and believes he is building momentum.
