Roma are staying in touch with Mason Greenwood and working on Olympique Marseille’s flanks to reduce his price tag, but they have also identified possible alternatives, such as Christian Pulisic and Crysencio Summerville.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Giallorossi are willing to spend more than €40M, but through a convoluted formula: an obligation to buy with a respectable initial fee, hefty bonuses, and a resale clause. The counterparty wants more. Instead, they have struck a deal on personal terms on a multi-year contract with €4.5M wages. PSG are after the West Ham star as well. He will be sold to the highest bidder following the relegation.

Per Mediaset, Pulisic faces an uncertain future at Milan since he didn’t respond to the club’s contractual offer, and his camp approached Roma and other sides. Still, he’s tied to the Rossoneri until 2028 through an option. His price tag is lofty as well, around €45M.

There’s plenty of momentum on the sale of the first one and the permanence of the other two, but things are never certain until they are signed on the dotted line. While it’s fair to be ambitious, they might be pursuing players at the very edge of their economic reach. There’s little reason for Milan to sell their attacker this summer despite the laborious extension talks.
