Milan are oriented to splurge to fortify their defense next and have singled out Gonçalo Inacio on their shortlist, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is pushing to make an attempt to convince Virgil van Dijk, although the difficulties abound in that case, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The Rossoneri have backed off from the talks for Antonio Silva after learning Benfica’s demands. His compatriot would be more expensive. He has a €60M release clause, and the Serie A side is willing to spend about €35/40M for a new leader. It’s unclear whether it’ll be enough to convince Sporting CP, which always drive a hard bargain. Their youth product has totaled 24 goals and 15 assists in 259 appearances at the club. He has 22 caps with Portugal under his belt.
Milan will likely sign two new men, as Fikayo Tomori is on his way out and could go back to the Premier League. Part of their management dreams of convincing Van Dijk, but Liverpool aim to keep him, Fabrizio Romano informs (via SOSFanta).
There have been no concrete contacts for now. The Reds don’t want to lose more stalwarts after Mohamed Salah, Ibrahim Konaté, and Andrew Robertson. The Dutchman has just a year left on his contract. He’d have to force his way out, and the Rossoneri must be willing to table a large offer for a 35-year-old.
Tomori seemed close to leaving in the past as well, but he always ended up staying. They are already thin as is, so they might wait until they secure at least one addition. They are looking in the right places, and they recently proved they can be stealthy and swift.
