Miley Gets 8.5, Wissa With 7 | Newcastle United Players Rated In Narrow Win Vs Fulham

Newcastle United welcomed Fulham at St. James’ Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win at home in the EFL Cup. The Magpies made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the tenth minute when Yoane Wissa found the back of the net. However, Sasa Lukic equalised for the Cottagers just six minutes later as the two teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.
Lewis Miley ended up scoring the winning goal for Newcastle in injury time as Eddie Howe’s men secured a narrow 2-1 win in front of their home fans.
Let’s take a look at how each Newcastle United player fared during the clash against Fulham.
He made a couple of crucial saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet.
RB: Lewis Miley – 8.5/10
Miley performed his defensive duties well and managed to score the winning goal in injury time.
CB: Malick Thiaw – 7/10
He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field.
CB: Fabian Schar – 6.5/10
Schar put his foot through the ball when he could, but failed to keep a clean sheet.

LB: Tino Livramento – 6/10
He failed to impress defensively but was a threat going forward.
CM: Joe Willock – 6.5/10
Willock made two good runs with the ball but failed to find the back of the net.
CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 7/10
He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch.
CM: Jacob Ramsey – 7/10
Ramsey came back to defend when he could and engineered two key chances in the final third.
LW: Harvey Barnes – 7/10
He was a constant menace on the left flank, but there was no goal for him.
ST: Yoane Wissa – 7/10
Wissa did well to score the opener early in the game, but was quiet in the second half.
RW: Jacob Murphy – 6/10
He caught the eye at times, but never looked like he would score.
