Eder Militao will not play again this season for Real Madrid after sustaining a left hamstring injury against Alavés on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabéu. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, he was hurt after making an attempt on goal, felt pain in his knee and was substituted immediately, with a serious issue ruled out early.

Subsequent tests confirmed the diagnosis, ending his campaign with Madrid after 21 appearances and 1,530 minutes.

He will now recover to be available for Carlo Ancelotti, the Brazil head coach and former Real Madrid manager, who contacted him on Tuesday night after the injury became known.

Arda Guler has a right hamstring injury and will miss Friday’s trip to Betis in Seville. The playmaker may also have played his final minutes of the season for Madrid.

Guler is set to play at the World Cup with Türkiye after qualifying via the play-offs, and is not expected to be risked in the remaining fixtures for Álvaro Arbeloa’s side this season.
