The AICSC (Association of Irish Celtic Supporters Clubs) held their AGM in Cork on Saturday 4th July and agreed to a late request from Celtic to allow Celtic interim Chairman Brian Wilson, Celtic Chief Executive Officer Michael Nicholson and the newly appointed Celtic manager Martin O’Neill to address the meeting…

AICSC is as far as we know, still a signed up member of the Celtic Fans Collective and at the launch meeting last September at Gracie’s Bar in Glasgow’s Merchant City one of the most powerful contributions came from a AICSC member who was in Glasgow and had authority to speak on behalf of the Irish Celtic supporters group.

He spoke of having a meeting with Michael Nicholson days before and the anger that their member felt regarding the answer that had been given.

Maybe the AICSC were wrong to allow the Celtic senior executives to address their AGM as some have suggested. Others though regarded it as a chance to talk to them and put the support’s concerns across.

The value for others will be in reading the minutes and forming an opinion on what Wilson, Nicholson and even Martin O’Neill had to say and it’s more than worrying. It’s actually terrifying.

A year after the shambles last summer we are heading there again, with excuse and pathetic excuse being offered up for the failings. Has Rangers and Hearts made any signings?

How is that possible yet Celtic can’t. We are apparently dealing with the free agents first as that easier. Try telling that to Kelechi Iheanacho and Marcello Saracci.

Everything is someone else’s fault – the media, agents, greedy players, the Premier League. Yet just a few year ago when we had a CEO who acted like one and not the personal lawyer for the largest shareholder, we were able to sign Jota, Carl Starfelt, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liel Abada, Kyogo before Dom McKay was ‘exited’ Rodgers style and Michael Nicholson appointed on an interim basis.

Then Ange Postecoglou brought in Matt O’Riley, Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate in the January window, concluding deals he had set up himself through his own agent.

No we get excuses and one signing, Camilo Duran the replacement for Kyogo who left the building 18 months ago. Read the minutes and make your own minds up. A warning though it’s a grim read…Do nothing, say nothing, spend nothing…
