Simon Adingra is targeting a return to the Ivory Coast set-up after missing the latest Africa Cup of Nations, stating the aim as he arrived on loan at Monaco.

According to Get French Football News, the 24-year-old set out his ambition during his presentation on Wednesday. He was a notable absentee from Ivory Coast’s squad for the tournament won by Senegal.

Adingra was man of the match in the 2024 final when Ivory Coast lifted the trophy. He featured sparingly for Sunderland in the first half of this season and was not involved this time.

The winger has joined Monaco on loan until the end of the campaign. He said he wants to show his best and regain a very good level.

He added that he has spoken with Emerse Faé. Faé told him the Monaco move was a good decision, given the club’s stature in Ligue 1.
