Nigerian striker Akor Adams, who now plays for Sevilla FC, has been a victim of harassment during his time at Montpellier.

Ten months ago, Akor Adams joined Sevilla FC in a €7 million transfer. At the start of this season, the Nigerian netted his first two goals in Andalusia, scoring against Rayo Vallecano (0-1) and then against FC Barcelona (4-1). It’s an encouraging start after leaving a Montpellier side that, just months later, suffered sporting collapse and relegation.

According to revelations from El Desmarque, this transfer meant much more than just a sporting opportunity for the player. Adams reportedly endured harassment and psychological abuse in the Montpellier dressing room, shunned by some senior players who demanded his exclusion. An anonymous club official even commented that he "is someone who is too good" and that many would have eventually clashed in such a toxic environment.
