Mourinho denies taking part in Real Madrid video, says images were AI-generated

Mourinho has contacted Benfica to reject involvement in a viral campaign video that shows him in Real Madrid kit.

According to Glorioso 1904, the clip was released on Wednesday evening on the official channels of Florentino Pérez’s presidential bid and quickly spread online.

He told the club the images were created using artificial intelligence, after supporters questioned the authenticity and the timing of its release.

The row has intensified because Mourinho remains Benfica coach, and his appearance in campaign material was interpreted by many as an early confirmation of a return to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Pérez’s candidacy has already announced Mourinho as their chosen coach if he wins Sunday’s election. Even so, Mourinho has moved to distance himself from the clip, saying he neither took part in its production nor authorised any recording.
