Jose Mourinho, yet to be confirmed as Real Madrid’s next manager, is already being linked with reshaping the squad this summer. One potential target is Marcus Rashford, with changes expected if he takes charge at the Bernabeu.
The Independent reports that Mourinho has flagged the Barcelona loanee, whom he previously coached at Manchester United, as a signing he would like for the upcoming window.
He has also set his sights on Manchester City’s Rodri Hernandez. Mourinho wants significant control over summer plans to address dressing-room issues and refresh the squad.
Rashford could be available if Barcelona cannot agree a permanent deal with Manchester United. United have told Barcelona that another loan will not be entertained, so Real Madrid could step in if talks fail.
Even so, it remains more likely that Rashford stays at Barcelona. Hansi Flick has informed sporting director Deco that he is counting on the England international next season, so Barcelona will push for an agreement in the coming weeks and months.
A switch to Madrid would be a headline-grabber and Rashford could cover for Vinicius Junior, but for now the move is viewed as very unlikely.
