FC Bayern Munich will be making a few more changes to its roster this summer. Another departure from the record-breaking champions has now been confirmed.
What had been looming since yesterday, Thursday, is now official. Maurice Krattenmacher is leaving FC Bayern and joining Bundesliga newcomer SV Elversberg with immediate effect.
On Thursday, the player underwent a medical exam with the new Bundesliga club. FC Bayern did not provide any specific details regarding the transfer fee.
Last season, Krattenmacher played on loan for Hertha BSC, demonstrating in the 2. Bundesliga that he possesses considerable talent. Ultimately, however, he—like Hertha as a whole—lacked consistency.
“Maurice has always had outstanding potential as an attacking player. Over the past two years in Ulm and at Hertha BSC, he has taken the next important steps in his development and is now ready for first-division soccer at SV Elversberg. We wish Maurice all the best in his new challenge at SV Elversberg,” said sporting director Christoph Freund in the press release.

After 22 games in the 2. Bundesliga last season, the next step is set to take place. Following their promotion, Elversberg is building a squad with many young and promising players. This could greatly aid the youngster’s development.
According to reports, FC Bayern has secured a buy-back option for the attacking player. However, this has not been officially confirmed. Nevertheless, this is not uncommon for clubs like the record champions. In theory, this allows them to retain control over the player and react if his value increases significantly.
