According to Coluna Do Fla, the Museu do Flamengo reopens on Tuesday 14 July in Rio de Janeiro, headlined by the temporary exhibition "Zagallo é Mengo: tem treze letras".

The show brings together historic items from Mário Jorge Lobo Zagallo’s career, including the Jules Rimet and 1994 World Cup trophies, on loan from the CBF.

Visitors trace milestones from his first goal to legend status, with a welcome narration by Luiz Penido.

The exhibition is split into "Zagallo é Gávea", "Zagallo é Mundo" and "Zagallo é Lenda", and includes an activation placing visitors in decisive moments such as a penalty.

The Flamengo section spans his four spells, from the 1953-55 state treble as a player, through titles as coach in 1972 and 1984, to the 2001 Carioca, featuring Petkovic’s free-kick against Vasco, and the Copa dos Campeões.

Artefacts include his 1950s jacket, the tricampeonato pennant and a shirt worn by goalkeeper Fillol.

Another space charts his Brazil years, where he remains the only four-time world champion, winning in 1958, 1962, 1970 and 1994 in roles from player to coordinator.

The finale explores his bond with the number 13, rooted in devotion to Santo Antônio on 13 June, with family-loaned statuettes and nods to 1958’s 5+8, 1994’s 9+4 and a 3-1 over Vasco in 2001.

"Zagallo é Mengo: tem treze letras" runs from 14 to 31 July 2026, from nine to 18 at Avenida Borges de Medeiros, 997. Tickets are sold online or at the museum.
